Ready, Set, Escargot!
This was my submission for Ludum Dare 56 in October 2024.
Get ready for an ultra fast-paced, exhilarating drag race taking place in the world of snails. You are invited to come and marvel at the fascinating skills of these little creatures as they dodge and weave in and out of obstacles at the near speed of light.
Use WASD to control the white snail in the center and try to beat all other eight snails to the finish line...if you can! Featuring randomly generated obstacles each run, and keep your eye out for leaf powerups to gain a blistering temporary speed bonus.
Keep going and don't turn around! :)

Game was fun - my favorite part was the snail inspired names. I didn't feel a speed boost getting the leaves but it's cool having to figure out the tradeoff between straight lining to finish line and getting a potential boost.
Thanks for playing! Yeah, the boost is literally like 1-2%. It's there, but not a game changer. I've had it help beat other snails before, but no sense in going way out of your way to get it, hah.
